SEAShell is a video-musical performance act recently launched at the iconic Paradiso of Amsterdam. The 18-minute long piece is a culmination of Castellana’s experimental journeys through media and artistic languages conveying the multiple natures of sound. Acoustic and digital music together summon the undulating movement of the sea that passes and remains... faithful and fleeting. The pulse and breath are the core of the performance. It leads and interweaves with singing, storytelling and sounds (re)produced on stage with musical instruments and natural materials. SEAShell is named after the home of sea creatures, symbolically evoking shelter and hospitality. Spiraling geometries which recall echoes of ancient myths in an endless cycle of regeneration.
